Carrying my brother
How heavy life becomes when it is carried on your shoulders, carrying the silence has become unbearable, a silence that is broken by Andean music as the procession passes. The absence of him weighs like stones and becomes impossible to carry on the shoulders, they need to rest such a painful load. There are no tears left to keep crying. Their rigid bodies like stones resign themselves in silence, they remain fallen, they are no longer afraid, and no one will be able to harm them. They dared to say something but a violent silenced their scream.
This series is made up of drawings that at first glance it is difficult for us to decipher what each one is about, it is necessary to get closer to see that what looks like a cocoon, a bunch of leaves, or tied stones, are actually lifeless bodies.
Each drawing shows us the way they carry their dead in the field, deep in the territory. Forms of absence.
